On January 2nd I put out a call for questions and many of you asked some great ones! Every Wednesday (until I run out of questions), I’ll be answering them here! There may be ones that are related, so I’ll answer multiple questions at once. You can always add a new questions to the queue by posting them as a comment here.
Today’s question is from Cathy V, who asks:
What do you snack on when writing? Or do you get so caught up in your creativity that you forget about food all together?! (I’m hungry at the moment, food is on my brain!)
I don’t think anybody has ever asked me this! Nice. So I don’t usually snack while writing unless I’m really tightly on deadline. In the morning, I do have my yogurt and walnuts while I’m checking my email and my sites for the day. I drink Vanilla Coke Zero like ALL DAY. But those are my regular things.
When I do snack, it’s probably popcorn, grapes, pretzels, something like that. Something I can grab as quick nibble finger food so that I can type (which somehow requires both hands, no matter how fast I do it).
There are times when I get so wrapped up in writing that I forget food entirely, which is awesome! I always know I’m really into what I’m doing when I look up and three hours have gone by and I am starving.
The other thing about food is that it’s a break for me. I get up, I stretch my back, I have some lunch and fruit and decompress a little (and maybe watch Maury, sorry). It keeps me slightly sane. Slightly.
